Nothing sparks more interest than a guy wearing a floral scent. The best rose fragrances for men are dazzlingly bold, confident, and compliment inducing without smelling like you raided your grandmother’s perfume collection.

Rose is such a versatile floral note in perfumery. In male fragrance, rose provides effortless lift and pairs so well with spices, woods and zesty fruits. I strongly feel every guy should have a rose fragrance in his collection.

Review

Maison Francis Kurkdjian L’Homme À la Rose Eau de Parfum is a clean and fresh masculine fragrance that blends citrus with rose and resin notes.

The opening is sharp, with zesty grapefruit lightly dusted with sage. A heart of fragrant rose unleashes the whole shooting match, petals, stems and leaves. Amberwood and labdanum provide a little warmth in the base.

One of my favourite masculine rose fragrances, L’Homme À la Rose, is a bright, feel-good spring and summer scent that is even office safe. I have a full bottle!

3. Tom Ford Rose Prick Eau de Parfum

Review

Tom Ford Rose Prick Eau de Parfum is a unisex Chypre Floral fragrance that pairs no less than 3 types of rose with spices and musk.

The opening is spicy with pepper and turmeric, unleashing their nose-tingling warmth. A bouquet of rose (Turkish, Bulgarian and May) blends well with the initial spice. Musky/earth patchouli in the base adds depth and mystery.

I will go out on a limb and say this is an any-season male fragrance. It smells confident and sexy on a guy and draws in lots of compliments as it’s a little unusual.

5. Chanel Égoïste Eau de Toilette

Review

Chanel Égoïste Eau de Toilette is a classic male woody/floral fragrance that is just as engaging now as it was when launched back in 1990.

The opening is woody right from the start, with mahogany and rosewood splashed with orange and coriander. Damask rose is prominent in the heart and dusted with cinnamon. Tobacco and vanilla creep in as this fragrance dries down to stamp their masculinity.

Settling to a classy woody and spicy/sweet rose fragrance, Égoïste Eau de Toilette is ideal for autumn/winter/spring and feels quite dressy. It would make an intriguing choice for a date fragrance as it’s not a common choice these days.

This spicy rose fragrance is effortlessly masculine and ideal for any season and occasion. It can be worn when dressed casual running errands, suited and booted for a wedding, and everything in-between.

  1. As a refined gentlemen myself *cough*, I enjoy wearing classy fragrances when I’m all suited up. I often wear the ‘designer’ Chanel Pour Homme and Issey Miyake Pour Homme or Encens, but this year I’ve been looking at the niche fragrances and MFK is high on my list. I’ll have to check out l’Homme a la Rose! Thanks
