1. Tommy Eau de Toilette
Review
Tommy Eau de Toilette is green and fresh with a minty-citrus kick that’s a true journeyman of a cologne. Originally created in 1995 by perfumers Annie Buzantian and Alberto Morillas, this fragrance has gone through several reformulations. We tested in-store in autumn 2020.
Opening notes are fresh and minty, with lavender and citrus providing a clean, almost classic, masculine vibe. A heart of apple and cranberry are softened by a discreet hint of rose that adds a touch of class.
The base does not jump out at you upon dry-down, but it’s lightly woody with a touch of amber and cotton flower that allowed the freshness to continue.
As for when to wear, Tommy Eau de Toilette definitely leans more towards being a fresh daytime fragrance. Perfect for bright spring/summer days when you want to smell fresh. Think post-workout scent, chilled lunches, running errands.
As you would expect from a fresh-smelling fragrance, performance is moderate. I found you can expect 3-4 hours of longevity before it becomes a skin scent. The sillage and projection are discreet but present.
Overall, if you want a fresh-smelling masculine fragrance that’s modern and ultra-clean, I would say Tommy Eau de Toilette is a solid purchase.
Top Notes:
Mint, Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lavender

2. Tommy Hilfiger Impact Eau de Toilette
Review
Tommy Hilfiger Impact Eau de Toilette is a zesty woody fragrance launched by the brand in 2020. This striking combination of citrus, wood and smoky aromatics is for the man who knows what he wants and is ready to take on the world to get it!
The opening of Impact begins with lemon, orange and bergamot but it’s sweeter and juicer rather than zesty. A heart of slightly smokey coco leaf adds more of an evening feel to the initial sweet and fruity opening.
The dry-down is a crowd-pleasing cocktail of warming amber, musk, and woody notes of sandalwood and akigalawood (and extract of patchouli).
Impact Eau de Toilette leans more towards the changing seasons of spring/autumn. Equally wearable day or night for pretty much any occasion. Think daytime office wear, dinner dates, or even out for the evening. This is not a full-on clubbing scent, but certainly, a refined masculine fragrance that exudes a woody smokiness.
Performance is better than I expected and you can expect 5-6 hours of longevity from this fragrance. Sillage and projection are also both quite decent. The smoky, woody notes last really well.
Overall, Tommy Hilfiger Impact Eau de Toilette is a long-lasting, versatile masculine fragrance. It begins with sweet fruity notes but soon reveals a smokier, woodier side as it dries down. Well worth checking out if you want something with a little depth.
Top Notes:
Citrus notes
Mid Notes:
Smokey notes, Coca Leaf
Base Notes:
Woody Notes, Akigalawood, Amber, Musk

3. Tommy Now Eau de Toilette
Review
Released in 2018, Tommy Now Eau de Toilette is a warm and spicy masculine cologne with a zesty twist. Although its name suggests a modern fragrance, I felt this is more of a vintage 90s scent or an intentional look back to Tommy’s fragrances of the past. This is not a put-down, it’s an excellent retro-fragrance!
The opening notes of bergamot and orange are fruity-fresh and provide a bright start to this fragrance. A spicy heart of ginger and cardamom cut through the initial citrus.
Geranium also begins to cast its manly floral magic of green and earthy tones. Upon dry-down, amberwood and moss are revealed and work oh-so-well with the cardamom and ginger.
As for when to wear, Tommy Now is a genuinely versatile fragrance. Can be worn during any season as a daytime scent and is equally suitable for smart or casual wear. Think brunch, post-gym, lunch dates. Would even make a great office scent.
Longevity is pretty good, I think you can squeeze 4+ hours of performance, longer if you spray on clothing (just watch for staining). Sillage and projection are also acceptable.
Overall, Tommy Now Eau de Toilette was better than I expected. It’s a retro feeling fresh and spicy combo that is great for any occasion. Recommended.
Top Notes:
Bergamot, Mandarin Orange
Mid Notes:
Ginger, Cardamom, Geranium

4. Tommy Now Them Eau de Toilette
Review
The 2020 release of Tommy Now Them Eau de Toilette brings the TH collection bang up to date. This bright yet spicy unisex scent is equally suitable for both men and women. In fact, both me and Ingrid agreed we would happily wear it.
This fragrance opens with a blast of juicy mandarin and sweet pear dusted with pink pepper. A heart of ginger and cardamon add the same spicy kick you get with the 2018 Tommy Now fragrance.
Still, the pear successfully softens the spicy-sharp edges. Upon dry-down, a bed of moss and sandalwood add welcoming warmth and depth.
Tommy Now Them Eau de Toilette is a spring/summer/autumn fragrance that for me personally is more of a smart-casual daytime fragrance. Suitable for shopping trips, running errands, lunches, and generally mooching about the city.
Performance is pretty good with decent sillage and projection. Not a best-mode frag, but you know you have it on. Expect 4+ hours of wear before it fades to a skin scent, longer on clothing.
Overall, Tommy Now Them Eau de Toilette is a modern everyday fragrance with a spicy-fresh disposition. The pear note really adds lift for the first hour, or so, then the spices take over for an upmarket feel. Very nice indeed.
Top Notes:
Mandarin, Pear, Pink Pepper
Mid Notes:
Ginger, Cardamon
Base Notes:
Moss, Sandalwood

5. TH Bold Eau de Toilette
Review
Released in 2015, TH Bold Eau de Toilette is a fresh citrus-led masculine fragrance that provides sweet fruits and manly floral notes in equal measures. The perfect scent to keep you shower-fresh.
This fragrance leads with a bright blend of sweet tangerine and pomelo sharpened by the zestiness of grapefruit and bergamot. A floral heart of orange blossom and lavender dusted with cardamom create lift.
Upon dry down, the scent reveals a woody base of cedar and sandalwood entwines with the smokey/woody aroma of vetiver. Tangerine remains the star of the show.
TH Bold Eau de Toilette is incredibly wearable during the spring and summer months due to its bright, fruity nature. Leans more towards being a daytime fragrance for lunches, chill days, the office, and even as a gym fragrance.
Performance was reasonably long-lasting at 5+ hours before the smokey tangerine note finally fades. Sillage and projection are moderate to fair.
Overall, TH Bold Eau de Toilette is a fresh male fragrance that leads with sweet tangerine and eases into smokey wood and hints of flowers. It’s a clean and bright, crowd-pleasing, feel-good fragrance.
Top Notes:
Tangerine, Pomelo, Blood Grapefruit, Bergamot
Mid Notes:
Mandarin Blossom, Lavender, Jasmine, Boronia, Cardamom
Base Notes:

6. Freedom Eau de Toilette
Review
Tommy Hilfiger Freedom is an aromatic green/marine fragrance that is well-balanced and ultra-fresh. Perfect for summer, this chilled scent was released in 2012. I don’t think you need to own a yacht to wear this, but imagine it could suddenly make you more attractive.
This scent opens with green leaves, juniper and violet, although basil and sage add some bite. A salty heart increases the holiday freshness, accompanied by coriander, ginger and pepper.
Upon dry-down, the light woody base absorbs some of the salt, and the whole fragrance settles into a salty/woodsy scent with a fresh cucumber vibe.
As for when to wear, Tommy Hilfiger Freedom screams summer, summer, summer. For me, it feels almost tailor-made for beachwear or afternoon summer parties. Perfect for smelling ocean-fresh with a dash of cucumber.
Performance is reasonable at 4+ hours before becoming a skin scent. Sillage and projection are moderate and lasted for at least 3 hours.
Presented in a quality glass bottle with a light blue hue and fancy silver cap. The red, white and blue angles lines on the front of the bottle are a nice touch. Feels weighty and well put together.
Overall, as a crowd-pleasing marine cologne, Tommy Hilfiger Freedom certainly delivers. It’s not incredibly ground-breaking for a marine freshie, but it’s modern, classy, well-rounded and feels good on.
Top Notes:
Green Leaves, Basil, Violet, Juniper, Clary Sage
Mid Notes:
Salt, Coriander, White Pepper, Ginger, Orange Blossom
Base Notes:
Driftwood, Vetiver, Sandalwood

7. Freedom Sport Eau de Toilette
Review
Tommy Hilfiger Freedom Sport Eau de Toilette is an aromatic fragrance that delivers a fresh and youthful combination of grassy vetiver and delicate herbs. Released in 2013, Freedom Sport is a more casual version of the original Freedom fragrance.
The opening of fresh green notes entwined with sage and coriander leaf creates a clean, yet herb-infused profile. Black pepper from the heart cranks up the spice still further, with cinnamon and cardamom adding some smoky sweetness.
Soon dry-down reveals grassy vetiver to add a fresh summer feel. I personally could not detect any patchouli.
This is a fresh spring/summer daytime fragrance that leans more towards casual and less formal occasions. I would also say this is an office safe. It is cheerful, fresh and exudes a fun-loving summertime persona.
Freedom Sport Eau de Toilette is relatively long-lasting at 4+ hours before fading to a skin scent. Sillage and projection are moderate but undoubtedly noticeable.
Overall, Freedom Sport Eau de Toilette is a modern masculine freshie. It combines vetiver and green notes with a bold mix of herbs and a peppery edge that could quickly become your fresh spring/summer signature scent.
Top Notes:
Clary Sage, Green Notes, Coriander Leaf
Mid Notes:
Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Cardamom
Base Notes:
Vetiver, Patchouli

8. Tommy Eau De Prep
Review
Tommy Eau De Prep is a young and energetic masculine fragrance that pairs luxurious suede, juniper and a generous splash of citrus to stunning effect. Released in 2011, the perfumer behind this fragrance is Rodrigo Flores-Roux (Tom Ford, Calvin Klein, and D&G, to name a few).
The opening is quite abrupt, with sage and pepper drenched in grapefruit whose zest cuts like a knife. A heart of fragrant lavender and green geranium add some manly floral notes.
Luxurious suede and warm amber notes begin to grab your attention as this fragrance dries.
As for when to wear, Tommy Eau De Prep is a casual daytime scent that leans towards the temperate seasons of spring and autumn.
The longevity of this scent is poor, 2+ hours is all I could squeeze out of it on my skin. Sillage and projection are moderate. I did manage to up the performance by using an 8 spray routine, 2x neck, 2x behind the ear, 2x chest, 2x wrist but began to project like a homing beacon of citrus.
Overall, Tommy Eau De Prep is a vibrant everyday masculine fragrance. It starts off ultra-clean and fresh, then settles into a comfy suede base with a crisp juniper kick. It’s an excellent fragrance that smells the most expensive of all the TH frags, shame about the longevity.
Top Notes:
Grapefruit, Clary Sage
Mid Notes:
Juniper, Green Notes, Lavender, Geranium, Pepper
Base Notes:
Suede, Amber, Oakmoss

So, Which Tommy Hilfiger Fragrance Smells The Best?
For me, the best smelling Tommy Hilfiger fragrance for men has to be Tommy Hilfiger Impact Eau de Toilette. The opening is bright and fresh with juicy citrus that is soon balanced by slightly smokey coco leaf. A cocktail of warm amber, musk, and woody notes create a crowd-pleasing base. Longevity is 5 – 6 hours.
Conclusion
Tommy Hilfiger has composed a contemporary collection of men’s fragrances that are all incredibly wearable. The best Tommy Hilfiger fragrances for men are incredibly fresh attention-grabbing notes that are contained in strikingly styled bottles.
Most of the Tommy fragrances tend to lead with a combo of fresh citrus and lush green notes, drying down into a classy blend of spices and light woods. Impact retains the TH freshness, yet introduces smokey woods, amber and musk that work well for more formal evening wear.
Tommy Now Them, is an exciting deviation from the brand’s tried and tested freshie-formula. The addition of sweet pear and mandarin really takes the fragrance to a new level, especially once the array of spices kick in as the scent dried down.
In addition to fragrance, Tommy Hilfiger offers quality designer clothing and accessories that are modern, stylish and bold. The brands’ eye-catching hoodies and jackets are particularly in demand at present.
