6 Best Smelling Perfumes With Freesia for 2026

Fresh, delicate and beautifully feminine, freesia has a clean floral scent with a slightly fruity character. It works particularly well alongside other flowers, fruits and soft woods, adding an airy freshness without becoming overly sweet.

I’ve personally worn and tested each of these freesia perfumes, comparing their scent, longevity and overall performance. My updated 2026 selection includes everything from fresh everyday fragrances to richer special-occasion scents, including recent releases from Bottega Veneta, Chanel and Versace.

What Does Freesia Smell Like? Freesia has a fresh, slightly sweet floral scent with subtle fruity and green qualities. In perfume, it can also have a delicate powdery character, making it particularly versatile alongside other floral notes, fruits, musk and woods.

Review

Bottega Veneta Bare Morning Eau de Parfum is an elegantly powdery, soft and feminine fragrance, with freesia at the heart and a beautifully musky warmth as it develops.

It opens with pink pepper and apricot seed, giving the fragrance a delicate fruity-spicy lift before the powdery freesia begins to emerge. There’s a lovely softness to the heart, with the Italian borotalco accord giving Bare Morning its distinctive clean, almost velvety powderiness.

As it settles, sandalwood, Cashmeran and skin musks add warmth and sensuality. I particularly enjoy the peppery musk that lingers in the dry-down. It’s sophisticated and understated, but certainly not boring.

Top Notes:

Pink Pepper Extract, Apricot Seed Essence

Mid Notes:

Borotalco Italian Accord, Freesia Accord

Base Notes:

Sandalwood Essence, Overdose of Skin Musks, Cashmeran®

Seasons & Longevity

I find Bare Morning versatile enough for any season. Its soft powdery character works beautifully during the daytime, while the warmer musky dry-down makes it equally suited to an evening out or special occasion.

2. Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Cologne

Review

Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Cologne is a beautifully balanced fruity floral fragrance that feels fresh, elegant and effortlessly feminine.

Juicy pear gives the opening a crisp, slightly sweet fruitiness before freesia begins to bloom, adding its clean, airy floral character. I also detect a soft hint of rose through the heart, while patchouli, amber and woods gradually add warmth and depth as the fragrance settles.

I particularly like how the pear and freesia remain noticeable throughout rather than becoming lost in the warmer base. The result is fresh and uplifting, with just enough sweetness to make it feel polished rather than overly green.

Top Notes:

Pear

Mid Notes:

Freesia

Base Notes:

Patchouli, Amber, Woody Notes

Seasons & Longevity

I find English Pear & Freesia ideal for spring and summer, particularly during the daytime. It’s an easy fragrance to wear for work, lunches, shopping or relaxed weekends.

On my skin, it lasts around 3+ hours, so I usually find it needs a top-up later in the day.

3. Chanel Beige Extrait de Parfum

Review

Chanel Beige Extrait de Parfum is a richer, more intense interpretation of the original Beige, with white florals, freesia and honey creating an elegant fragrance that feels unmistakably Chanel.

It opens with neroli and jasmine, giving me a beautifully clean white-floral introduction. Freesia then arrives with a fanfare in the heart, joined by slightly tropical frangipani and the softer floral character of hawthorn.

As it settles, honeyed notes add warmth and richness without turning Beige overly sweet. I find the whole composition beautifully polished and feminine, with that classic Chanel elegance, but with a little more oomph than the Eau de Parfum.

4. Diptyque Ofrésia Eau de Toilette

Review

Diptyque Ofrésia Eau de Toilette is a beautifully clean floral fragrance that gives freesia a slightly spicy twist. Originally released in 1999, it still feels remarkably fresh and elegant today.

Freesia gets straight to work in the opening, bringing a clean, feminine floral scent that’s slightly sweet with a touch of green freshness. As it develops, pepper begins to peek through, adding a gentle spicy kick that stops the florals from becoming too prim and proper.

Soft woody notes emerge as Ofrésia settles, but they remain discreet and allow the freesia to stay centre stage. I love its simplicity; it’s fresh, polished and incredibly easy to wear.

Top Notes:

Pepper

Mid Notes:

Freesia

I find Ofrésia perfect for spring and summer daytime wear. It’s just the ticket for shopping trips, garden parties, lunches or anytime you want something fresh and effortlessly put together. Lasts around 4 hours.

Review

Amouage Reflection Woman Eau de Parfum is an elegant green floral fragrance that feels fresh, polished and quietly confident.

It opens with crisp green leaves before freesia and magnolia begin to bloom, bringing a clean floral freshness with a slightly citrusy edge. Jasmine adds a touch of sweetness, while violet gives the fragrance a soft powdery quality.

As it settles, the woods and amber add warmth and depth without muscling in on the florals. I particularly like how fresh and composed Reflection Woman remains throughout. It smells expensive, but doesn’t feel as though it’s trying too hard.

Top Notes:

Water Violet, Freesia, Tropical Green Leaves

Mid Notes:

Magnolia, Ylang-ylang, Jasmine

Base Notes:

Amber, Musk, Cedarwood, Sandalwood

Seasons & Longevity

I find Reflection Woman best suited to spring and summer daytime wear. It’s smart enough for work or a special lunch, but equally at home at a garden party when the sun decides to behave itself.

6. Versace Dylan Blush Pink Eau de Parfum

Review

Versace Dylan Blush Pink Eau de Parfum is a fruity, floral and fresh fragrance with a generous dose of sweetness that I think will particularly appeal to a younger crowd.

It opens with bergamot, strawberry apple and freesia, creating a bright fruity-floral combination. I find the white floral freshness of the freesia is quickly super-charged by the sweetness of marshmallow, while orange blossom keeps the floral character running through the heart.

As it settles, vanilla, tonka bean and musk make Dylan Blush Pink increasingly sweet, creamy and gourmand. I’d recommend this one particularly if you enjoy your florals with a sugary twist.

Top Notes:

Calabrian bergamot, Strawberry Apple, Freesia

Mid Notes:

Marshmallow, Orange Blossom, Tonka Bean

Base Notes:

Madagascar Vanilla, Musk

Seasons & Longevity

Its fresh floral opening works particularly well in warmer weather, although the marshmallow and vanilla give it enough sweetness to carry comfortably into those cooler early-autumn days.

Ingrid’s Top Pick

Bottega Veneta Bare Morning Eau de Parfum

Bottega Veneta Bare Morning Eau de Parfum

Bare Morning is my top pick for its beautifully soft, powdery freesia, elegant musky warmth and excellent longevity. It’s sophisticated, feminine and wonderfully versatile!

Conclusion

Freesia may be a delicate floral note, but these fragrances show just how versatile it can be. It can feel fresh and airy, fruity and playful, or soft, powdery and sophisticated depending on the notes surrounding it.

For a classic fresh combination, Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia remains an easy fragrance to reach for, while Versace Dylan Blush Pink takes freesia in a younger, sweeter direction with marshmallow and vanilla.

My favourite is Bottega Veneta Bare Morning. I love how its powdery freesia develops into warm sandalwood and skin musks, creating something elegant and feminine that can be worn in any season.
