In 2010, Gucci introduced us to the captivating world of Guilty fragrances, starting a collection for those seeking a blend that moves off the beaten track, away from generic vanilla bombs.
The original Gucci Guilty fragrance set the tone with its bold and provocative notes. Over the years, the collection has expanded with the new 2024 Gucci Guilty Elixir collection for both him and her.
Now, be warned, the Gucci Guilty Elixir collection boasts richer, more unusual notes, perfect for those who want their scent to be more niche-like.
Ingrid and I made an in-store visit to test both of these Gucci offerings, and I ended up buying a full bottle of the Pour Homme!
Gucci Guilty Elixir Pour Homme & Pour Femme
The new Gucci Guilty Elixir collection for him and for her is a tantalising niche-like evolution of the Guilty line.
1. Gucci Guilty Elixir de Parfum Pour Homme
Review
Gucci Guilty Elixir de Parfum Pour Homme is an aromatic, almost herbal blend by perfumer Quentin Bisch. I own a full bottle and have never smelled anything like it.
This fragrance opens with the creamy powderiness of orris butter and a blast of spicy, woody, bittersweet nutmeg in the heart.
As it settles, ambrofix unleashes a green woody aroma that’s really unusual, with a touch of rich resin too.
Top Notes:
Vanilla, Orris Butter
Mid Notes:
Ambrofix, Nutmeg
Base Notes:
Benzoin
Seasons & Longevity
This elixir shines brightest in the cooler months of autumn, winter and spring. I’d wear it for unusual daytime outings such as a trip to the museum or a stroll through London.
Its performance is crazy long, with a longevity of 8+ hours minimum and decent projection; this one is a beast.
Benefits & Drawbacks
Pros | This is a very niche scent that smells expensive |
Cons | Very unusual, so not a blind buy |
2. Gucci Guilty Elixir de Parfum Pour Femme
Review
Gucci Guilty Elixir de Parfum Pour Femme is another niche offering from Gucci; this powdery vanilla floral scent has a musky, green earthiness that develops.
The fragrance begins with a delicate wisteria accord and the exotic green touch of mandora.
The heart is a gourmand’s dream with sweet vanilla and rich tonka bean, finishing with a floral base of rose and violet. I get some earthy patchouli, also.
Top Notes:
Wisteria Accord, Mandora
Mid Notes:
Vanilla, Tonka Beans
Base Notes:
Rose, Violet
Seasons & Longevity
Gucci Guilty Elixir de Parfum Pour Femme is suitable for autumn, winter and spring, and to my nose, leans more towards eveningwear.
At 7+ hours, its staying power is impressive, ensuring you’ll enjoy its magnetic presence from dawn till dusk.
Benefits & Drawbacks
Pros | This is a niche scent that ensures you stand out from the crowd |
Cons | Very unusual green, musky aroma that may not suit everyone |
Conclusion
Whether you’re drawn to the aromatic, rich notes of the Pour Homme or the mysterious blend of the Pour Femme, Gucci Guilty Elixir is a niche fragrance lover’s dream.
So why not indulge in a little luxury and let Gucci Guilty Elixir weave its unusual and seductive magic into your life? But try before you buy with this offering; it’s pretty out there!
