When Memo Paris was founded in 2007 by John and Clara Molloy (also responsible for Floraïku), it became a fragrance house infused with the spirit of adventure and travel.
The pair met on a chair lift while travelling and decided to journey together; Memo Paris is the result of their partnership and has been heavily influenced by their lives.
At Viora London, we first came across the Memo Paris perfume collection during a fragrance trip to Harvey Nichols, and wanted to share our favourite Memo Paris perfumes.
8 Memo Paris Perfumes for Women Reviewed
After much deliberation, these 8 are the best Memo Paris perfumes at the top of my wish list.
1. Sintra Eau de Parfum
Review
A robust white floral scent with a marshmallow twist, Sintra Eau de Parfum is a classic yet youthful scent similar to Kilian’s Love Don’t Be Shy.
Opening with citrusy bergamot, orange flower and red fruits, it melts into a soothing heart of jasmine, milky marshmallow and vanilla with hints of musk and caramel.
Top Notes:
Bergamot, Orange Flower Absolut, Red Fruits, Petitgrain
Mid Notes:
Jasmine, Milk, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Rose Absolut
Base Notes:
Balsam, Caramel, Cedarwood, Musk
Seasons & Longevity
This versatile feminine scent wears well all year round and should last you for 7+ hours.
2. Winter Palace Eau de Parfum
Review
As a classic oriental woody scent, Winter Palace is utterly intoxicating, created with the grandeur and beauty of ancient China.
Lemon, grapefruit, and orange create a sparkling first wave of scent that dries down beautifully to reveal vanilla and red tea accord. Dries to a resinous base.
Top Notes:
Bergamot, Lemon, Grapefruit, Orange
Mid Notes:
Red Tea Accord, Mate Essence, Vanilla,
Base Notes:
Amber, Labdanum, Gurjum Balm, Styrax Resinoid, Musk, Tonka Bean
Seasons & Longevity
True to its name, Winter Palace is best worn in cold weather. Wear it during the day from autumn to spring, and you will get its full effect for 7+ hours.
3. Marfa Eau de Parfum
Review
There’s something about floral woody scents that makes me feel sophisticated. Marfa has a Mediterranean feel; it’s simple yet evocative.
Orange blossom and mandarin join forces with exotic ylang-ylang, tuberose, and agave, supported by wood and musk. The result is feminine and bright, with slightly sharp edges.
Top Notes:
Orange Blossom, Mandarin,
Mid Notes:
Tuberose, Agave, Ylang-Ylang
Base Notes:
Musk, Sandalwood, Cedar, Vanilla
Seasons & Longevity
Marfa is a versatile fragrance that makes a good show every season, especially in autumn. I found the overall blend relatively robust, lasting 6+ hours.
4. French Leather Eau de Parfum
Review
Everyone needs a sexy date night perfume on their shelf, and this is one of my picks; French Leather is complex, with sensual rose aromas to crank up the floral dial.
Warm and lightly spiced, the opening is made up of lime, pink pepper, and juniper, augmented by a floral bouquet of roses and a soothing suede base.
Top Notes:
Lime, Pink Pepper, Juniper
Mid Notes:
Rose, Clary Sage
Base Notes:
Suede, Vetiver, Musk, Styrax, Cedar
Seasons & Longevity
For me, French Leather is a cool weather fragrance that performs best in spring and autumn. You can expect 5+ hours of wear.
5. Siwa Eau de Parfum
Review
Yellow floral fragrances are not for everyone, but their complex and often boozy profiles are alluring. If you want to feel powerful and sexy, Siwa is one of my top recommendations.
Cinnamon leaf oil and ginger are tempered by sweet and slightly boozy narcissus, followed by mostly freesia and heliotrope. The base of smoky vanilla adds mystery.
Top Notes:
Narcissus, Cinnamon Leaf Oil, Ginger
Mid Notes:
Freesia, Heliotrope, Orris
Base Notes:
Vanilla, Incense, Sandalwood
Seasons & Longevity
Siwa is a powerhouse that performs best on cold autumn nights. Wear it out to date nights and expect to catch the lingering notes of the scent in the morning.
6. Lalibela Eau de Parfum
Review
Looking to express your femininity without restraint? Lalibela is a charming chypre floral scent, it’s bright and creamy.
Aromas of coconut orchid (yes, an orchid that smells of coconut!) dominate the opening, with rose and vanilla emerging as it dries down. At the base, you will encounter earthy patchouli and tobacco.
Top Notes:
Jasmine, Coconut Orchid
Mid Notes:
Rose, Rockrose, Vanilla
Base Notes:
Patchouli, Frankincense, Tobacco, Labdanum
Seasons & Longevity
Perfect for spring and autumn days, I also recommend Lilabela for summer nights. Will last 5+ hours before becoming a skin scent.
7. Inverness Eau de Parfum
Review
Woody and powdery, Inverness is a bracing and clean scent that will invigorate you with its freshness. Think misty pine woods at dawn; it’s wild!
Powdery orris and herbaceous-smelling mate melt into a heart of peppery amyris and iris. Woods reign supreme at the base, as cedarwood and sandalwood unite to create a resinous, dry finish.
Top Notes:
Orris Butter, Mate Absolute
Mid Notes:
Iris Butter, Amyris Oil, Guaiacwood
Base Notes:
Cedarwood, Sandalwood
Seasons & Longevity
Inverness is a mature, clean-cut scent with plenty of staying power. Wear it on cold winter and spring nights to get the full effect, and enjoy how it lingers on your sheets.
8. Sherwood Eau de Parfum
Review
Woody scents can be dry or spicy; Sherwood is a more rounded and warming scent than Inverness, which is why they’re both on this list.
Sherwood is a little top-heavy, leading with carrot seeds, blackcurrant, and pink pepper. This scent soon becomes woody with hints of delicate florals.
Top Notes:
Carrot Seed Oil, Blackcurrant Bud, Pink Pepper, Orange Blossom
Mid Notes:
Damascena Rose, Cashmeran
Base Notes:
Oakwood, Sandalwood
Seasons & Longevity
Robust and lightly spicy, Sherwood balances masculine and feminine vibes with grace. It lasts 6+ hours and is perfect for spring and autumn wear.
Sheree’s Top Pick
Sintra Eau de Parfum
I chose Sintra Eau de Parfum for its inoffensive, easygoing scent. I would wear it on outings with friends, date nights, or a weekend escape somewhere exotic.
Conclusion
Memo Paris is a unique and charming fragrance house that really does offer something different with every scent. Each scent smelled quite niche-like to me.
