Designer suits, casual-wear, watches, and fragrance, Armani is a brand that oozes masculine Italian style. The best Armani fragrances for men fuse crowd-pleasing spices, woods, fruits and floral notes that are both luxurious and timeless.

Italian designer Giorgio Armani entered high-fashion as a window dresser at the local department store La Rinascente. His eye for effortless style soon landed him a role at Cerruti designing men’s clothing. Going solo in 1975, the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer collection of 1976 enjoyed massive success.

The brands first male fragrance launched in 1984 was the aromatic spicy/citrus Armani Eau Pour Homme. This well-received scent paved the way for some of the most popular male fragrance collections on the planet, such as Armani CodeAcqua di Giò and Stronger With You.

Best Armani Fragrances For Men

With fresh citrus colliding with wood, spices and resin, the best Armani fragrances for men are stylish and distinctive. Here are 10 male Armani scents to consider.

1. Armani Code Eau de Toilette

Armani Code Eau de toilette

Review

Armani Code Eau de Toilette is a classic and still the king of the compliment. This citrus/floral/leather fragrance is such a crowd-pleaser that you should simply grab a bottle right now to add to your collection.

This fragrance opens with a bright zing of lemon and bergamot that lead to a heart of star anise, olive blossom and Guaiac wood that provide a spicy wave of male sophistication.

Upon dry-down, luxurious leather, freshly cut pipe tobacco and smooth tonka bean complete the experience. Settles to a medium depth masculine fragrance of leather and spice with almond/vanilla and tobacco edges.

Although the notes elude more towards autumn/winter, I personally wear this during any season and any time of day. In the spring/summer, it’s more of an evening scent, and in the cooler months equally suitable for day or night.

Performance is not super long-lasting at 4+ hours, but this is an EDT after all, so it burns itself out quicker than the EDP. Don’t let that put you off, as this is a great fragrance.

Presented in a tall, curved black bottle with a matching cap that looks modern and stylish. My only complaint is that even the spray hole is black, so easy to miss yourself!

Overall, Armani Code is an intoxicating and intriguing male fragrance that still gets compliments. If I was washed up on a desert island with only 5 scents for company, this would be one of them.

2. Armani Code Absolu Eau de Parfum

Armani Code Absolu Eau de Parfum

Review

Armani Code Absolu Eau de Parfum is a sweeter take on the original Code fragrance but manages to remain mature and classy. Heavier on the tonka bean and vanilla notes, this beauty even made it onto our list of the 12 Best Vanilla Fragrances For Men.

Although this fragrance opens with fresh notes of green mandarin and apple, they are immediately swallowed by nutmeg, orange blossom, and carrot seed. These heart notes balance the mix to prevent it from becoming too sickly sweet.

The dry-down is where the magic happens. Creamy almondy tonka bean, sweet vanilla, and lush suede give it a sweet yet dry finish. It maintains masculinity and is not just a generic attention-seeking vanilla-bomb.

Armani Code Absolu is a tremendous cold-weather fragrance. Also OK for early spring, although it is a little heavy for summer use. I managed 5+ hours of wear from this scent before it faded to hover just above the skin. Sillage and projection are both excellent.

Simply presented in a tall, cylindrical bottle with a metallic sheen and a gold topper, Armani Code Absolu really represents the Armani’ look’ too.

Overall, Armani Code Absolu is a warm and comforting male fragrance that places vanilla and tonka bean firmly in the spotlight. It is sweet but not sickly sweet or cloying, so easily worn by any age group—one to wear during the chillier months.

3. Armani Code Profumo Eau de Parfum

Armani Code Profumo Eau de Parfum

Review

Armani Code Profumo Eau de Parfum is a manly oriental amber/woody fragrance that blends warm, sweet and spicy notes to stunning effect. Released in 2016, the perfumer responsible for this enticing scent is Antoine Maisondieu.

This fragrance opens with crisp apple and semi-sweet mandarin spiced with rich cardamom. A bright heart of lavender and orange blossom create lift. Nutmeg joins forces with the initial cardamom hit.

Upon dry-down, the sweet-smelling vanilla/almond combo of tonka bean and benzoin rises to the occasion. Rich, warm amber provides depth, plus a distinct leather note adds masculine richness. Settles to a tonka bean/amber base with leather and spices.

Armani Code Profumo is a rich and spice male fragrance ideal for autumn/winter evening wear. It smells expensive and somewhat dressy but equally suited for smart/casual. Think date night, eating out, bars, and is undoubtedly club-worthy.

Performance is excellent. You can expect 6+ hours of wear with strong sillage and projection for at least 3-4 hours of that. I found it not too overpowering despite its strength.

The presentation is classic Armani. The tall, curved bottle is almost bronze in colour with a matching cap and black detail around the neck. Looks every bit as classy as it smells.

Overall, Armani Code Profumo is a seductive addition to the Code collection. This fragrance is a well-balanced combination of sweet, spice and rich notes ideal for cold season evening wear. Smells expensive and refined.

4. Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio Pour Homme Eau de Toilette

Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio Pour Homme Eau de Toilette

Review

And now for the 1996 male classic Acqua di Gio Pour Homme Eau de Toilette. This fresh, zesty marine fragrance was created by perfumer genius Alberto Morillas.

Upon opening, you are greeted by sharp bergamot and sweet tangerine that are further lifted by fragrant neroli. An ultra-fresh heart of sweet jasmine, soft rose and bitter persimmon fruit is drenched in a tsunami of salty marine notes.

The dry-down is discreet. Wood, musk, and patchouli never dominate the zesty marine freshness of the top and mid notes. Settles down as a salty aquatic fragrance with vibrant citrus and sweet white flowers.

Spring and summer is the perfect playground for this ‘freshie’. This is a refreshing daytime fragrance that can be worn post-exercise, summer walks, outdoor lunches, picnics, and also the office.

Performance is not staggering, but this is to be expected. I managed 3+ hours before Acqua di Gio Pour Homme settled to a zesty/salty skin scent. Sillage and projection are moderate, although they can be boosted by a cheeky overspray.

The nicely curved bottle remains classic in design and looks classy with its sandblasted glass effect. The cap is brushed metal.

Overall, the original Acqua di Gio Pour Homme is the stuff of legend. It will keep you smelling shower-fresh without dominating. Its classy, classic and contemporary.

5. Giorgio Armani Acqua di Giò Profondo Eau de Parfum

Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio Pour Homme Eau de Toilette

Review

Acqua di Giò Profondo Eau de Parfum is a summer fresh male scent with a generous helping of herbs and minerals. Released in 2020, this is a relatively new addition to the Acqua di Giò collection formulated by perfumer titan Alberto Morillas.

Sparkling bergamot and semi-sweet mandarin are soon bathed in salty-fresh marine notes for an attention-seeking opening. Rosemary and pine-fresh cypress lead the charge in the heart of this scent, with lavender and a balsamic note of lentisk close behind.

A deep heart reveals mineral notes as the ‘main act’ supported by musk, patchouli and amber. Settles to a classy masculine citrus/marine combo with herbs and mineral notes.

As you would expect from such a fresh fragrance, Acqua di Giò Profondo is perfect for spring and summer day wear. Just the scent for running errands, easy-going lunches, nice walks, exercising, and generally chilling.

The performance was better than I expected. After 5+ hours, this fragrance was still noticeable. Sillage and projection are moderate/fair.

The nicely curved bottle follows the same design as the original fragrance. It is presented in a discreet blue hue with a matching cap and silver metal neck.

Overall, Acqua di Giò Profondo is a crisp, citrus and aquatic fragrance that delights with its sparkling opening and a duo of herbs and minerals. If you are looking for a fresh masculine scent that will generate compliments galore, then look no further.

6. Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Giò Profumo Eau de Parfum

Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Giò Profumo Eau de Parfum

Review

Acqua Di Giò Profumo Eau de Parfum continues the fresh citrusy marine vibe of the Acqua Di Giò range and injects a cloud of smokey incense to delight the night owls. Released in 2016, Alberto Morillas is the nose behind this smokey/fresh male scent.

This fragrance opens with zesty bergamot drenched in salty-fresh marine notes. A heart of herbs notes soon reveals rosemary and sage. These combine with earthy/green geranium that is manly and confident.

Upon dry-down, a cloud of masculine smokey incense rises from the base to contrast the initial fresh citrus and marine notes. Settles to a seductive collection of refreshing manly notes deepened by dark smokey edges.

A versatile scent, Acqua Di Giò Profumo is well suited for spring/summer and autumn wear. Personally, I feel it’s an evening fragrance due to the incense, although anytime from late afternoon onwards is fair game.

This fragrance was still noticeable after 7+ hours with decent sillage and projection for more than half that time. The incense lasts incredibly well.

Presented in a matt black version of the classic Acqua Di Giò bottle with matching lid and silver neck and base. Looks as dark and smokey as the fragrance lurking inside.

Overall, Acqua Di Giò Profumo is a masterclass of ‘freshie’ meets mysterious. What starts off as another citrus-heavy marine fragrance soon pivots into a wormhole of rich, decadent smokiness that deserves your complete attention.

7. Emporio Armani Stronger With You Freeze Eau de Toilette

Emporio Armani Stronger With You Freeze Eau de Toilette

Review

Stronger With You Freeze Eau de Toilette is an aromatic woody masculine fragrance with sensual notes of lime, ginger, lavender and vanilla. Released in 2020, this is a refreshing yet rich masculine scent that is the most versatile version of the Stronger with You collection.

Opens with fresh lime, orange, hints of apple and lots of ginger that initially provides a summer fruit cocktail feel. A heart of bright lavender and green/earthy geranium are gently spiced by sage and cardamom.

Dry-down is a decidedly sweet/woody combination of vanilla, Guaiac Wood, and Woody Amber Accord that retains a sophisticated manly edge. Settles to a zesty/spicy scent with sensual sweet tones of vanilla and wood.

The longevity of Stronger With You Freeze lasted 4+ hours before it became a skin scent on me. Sillage and projection during that time were pretty good; the vanilla and ginger really shine.

This fragrance is a spring/summer/autumn fragrance that is extremely versatile due to its warmth, sweetness and spice. The trio of lavender, ginger and lime really hits the spot for a carefree holiday feel. Vanilla and woods introduce depth to thoroughly extend season wearability. Wear this day or night, casual or formal.

Presented in a frosted glass version of the Stronger With You bottle. It’s smooth to the touch, and the fragrance inside emits an eye-catching amber glow. A black cap with twisted detail completes the look.

8. Emporio Armani Stronger With You Absolutely Eau de Parfum

Emporio Armani Stronger With You Absolutely Eau de Parfum

Review

Stronger with You Absolutely Parfum is a masculine boozy fragrance with sweet vanilla and deep chestnut. Launched in 2021, this rich scent smells luxurious and is perfect for dressy evening occasions.

Opens boldly with sharp bergamot combined with contrasting elemi resin and lashings of boozy rum. A heart of cheerful lavender is boosted by the sweet dried-fruit note from the herb of davana.

Upon dry-down, the chestnut note fully reveals itself. It is heavily supported by crowd-pleasing vanilla and a subtle helping of cedar. Settles to a booze coated trio of vanilla, lavender and chestnut.

As with most boozy fragrances, Stronger With You Absolutely is well suited for cold season wear. It’s boozy/woody richness is best worn during the evening.

It’s deep and luxurious, yet equally wearable for smart/casual and dressier occasions such as eating out, bars, clubs, formal engagements.

9. Emporio Armani Stronger With You Intensely Eau de Parfum

Emporio Armani Stronger With You Intensely Eau de Parfum

Review

Launched in 2019, Stronger With You Intensely Eau de Parfum is an attention-seeking cocktail of sweet vanilla and toffee, deepened by spices and herbs. If you enjoy any of the Viktor & Rolf Spice Bomb collection, this takes it to another level of wow!

The opening almost bypasses the juniper, pink pepper and violet to get straight to heart notes that are dark, sweet, and almost gourmand. Rich, sweet toffee and spiced cinnamon compete for your attention with hints of pepper adding bite.

Upon dry-down, vanilla notes and decadent amber elevate this spicy/sweet masculine fragrance still further. Hints of suede add touches of elegance. Settles to a sweet vanilla/toffee scent with warm amber, cinnamon and spice.

Stronger With You Intensely is a fragrance for night-owls and is best suited for autumn/winter. It leans more towards being a smart/casual evening fragrance. Although this is ultra-sweet, there is still enough kick to keep it masculine and confident smelling.

This fragrance is a monster performer. Longevity is 8+ hours with excellent sillage and projection. Be careful not to overspray as this is beast-mode territory, so you only need a couple of sprays.

Presented in a clear glass version of the Stronger With You bottle that has a clear base. The fragrance inside is far darker than the Freeze or Absolutely versions. A black cap with twisted detail completes the look, and the Armani logo on the sprayer is a nice touch.

Overall, Stronger With You Intensely is an explosion of vanilla, toffee and spice. This fragrance is a deep manly attention-grabber that performs incredibly well. If you love intense and sweet gourmand fragrances, then look no further.

10. Emporio Armani He Eau de Toilette

Emporio Armani He Eau de Toilette

Review

Emporio Armani He Eau de Toilette is an aromatic oriental woody fragrance that fuses warm spices and wood with fresh-smelling yuzu fruit. Initially launched in 1998 as Armani Lui and reformulated in 2020, the perfumers behind this unusual concoction are Alain Astori and Carlos Benaim.

The opening fruity notes of sweet and citrusy yuzu is gently sprinkled with cardamom and sage. A light woody heart of vetiver is supported by spicy/earth nutmeg that adds some welcome depth.

The dry-down unleashes more vetiver, nutmeg and cardamom, plus introduces sandalwood and light musk. This revamp version captures some of the 1990s retro-ness of the original yet still feels modern and edgy.

For me, this is a versatile any-season fragrance that is equally wearable day or night. This easy to wear scent can be worn for pretty much any occasion, shopping trips, running errands, date night, eating out, even one to hit the bars and clubs with.

I managed 4+ hours of longevity with reasonable sillage and projection. Not bad for a spicy/fresh EDT. Even had a couple of compliments too!

The bottle resembles (in my humble opinion) a fancy electric pepper grinder. It has nice smooth edges and has the Armani name and logo discreetly displayed at the bottom.

Overall, Emporio Armani He contrasts woody, spicy and musky notes energised by citrusy yuzu fruit. This is an extremely versatile any-season masculine fragrance that reels in compliments.

11. Armani Eau de Nuit Eau de Toilette

Armani Eau de Nuit Eau de Toilette

Review

Armani Eau de Nuit Eau de Toilette is an oriental male fragrance with soft powdery touches that remains incredibly masculine and sophisticated. Released in 2013, this scent was designed by French perfumer Marie Salamagne.

Opening notes are fresh yet spicy due to a fusion of zesty bergamot and pink pepper. A heart of striking iris blooms magnificently to announce its powdery floral profile. Cardamom and nutmeg add additional spice. However, the pink pepper remains the most noticeable spice of the three.

Upon dry-down, the almond/vanilla scent of tonka bean soon takes centre stage, with support from amber and cedar. Settles to a powdery/vanilla fragrance with pepper and cardamom, bringing out the best of this masculine scent.

This is a cold-weather evening fragrance, so one to keep on standby for autumn/winter. It is more of a formal fragrance, so ideal for fancy restaurants, bars, clubs, and theatre and would even make a great date scent.

Performance is excellent, and Armani Eau de Nuit was still going strong after 6+ hours. The sillage and projection are both decent for at least 4 hours, then hovers just about the skin.

The 100ml bottle is dark, moody and looks very classy. Both the base and the neck have fancy silver-lined ridges that I feel are almost Art Deco.

Overall, Armani Eau de Nuit is a seductive, elegant, and refined male fragrance that smells expensive and almost niche-like. The powdery iris and vanilla combo really shines. Wow!

Review

Armani Eau de Cèdre Eau de Toilette is a warm and inviting blend of woods, spices, green notes, plus black tea for an additional ping! Released in 2015, this fragrance is a mature, dark and sophisticated woody fragrance.

This fragrance opens with sage sprinkled lemon and bergamot, just the right balance of zesty and herb. Violet leaf adds some green powdery notes in the heart, while cumin and cardamon introduce a generous helping of warm spice.

The dry-down is a masculine combination of black tea, sensual cedar and luxurious suede. Settles to a dark blend of black tea, wood and suede lifted by violet leaf and cardamom.

This is a warm, woody and spicy any-season fragrance that is equally wearable for day or night. The woods and black tea make this a smart/casual fragrance suitable for lunches, dates, theatre, bars and restaurants.

You can expect 4+ hours of good performance before this fragrance settles into a skin scent. Sillage and projection are good, especially the black tea and woody combo.

The 100ml green-glass bottle certainly looks the part. Both the base and the neck have the same fancy silver-lined ridges of the Armani Eau de Nuit bottle.

Overall, Armani Eau de Cèdre is a well balanced woody masculine fragrance with dark notes of black tea lifted by spice and citrus. This is a distinctive any-season fragrance that any woody scent loved should buy.
