I came across Bond No 9 fragrances in Selfridges, London whilst researching a number of fragrances with Ingrid. Must admit I went a tad bonkers and ended up trying everything that was on display (a big thank-you to the really helpful assistant). 10 scents have made it into my Best Bond No 9 Men’s Cologne review. My personal favourite is revealed in the conclusion.

So if you are searching for a fragrance that is a bit quirky yet remains in the masculine corner, then Bond No 9 certainly warrants closer investigation. Their use of zesty citrus, masculine florals and woody/musky bases, beautifully presented with location-based names (such as ‘New York Nights’) certainly stands out.

10 Bond No 9 Men’s Colognes Reviewed

The Bond No 9 collection of fragrances offer something for every modern man. Here are our top 10 best Bond No 9 colognes that are more than worthy of a place in your daily routine.

1. Bond No 9 New York Nights Eau De Parfum

Bond No 9 New York Nights Eau De Parfum

Review

Bond No 9 New York Nights is a dreamy gourmand fragrance that provides warmth and sweetness in equal measures.

Leading with a discreet blend of florals including Jasmine, Gardenia, Carnation. Upon dry down, the scent gets onto gear and settles into its sweet caramel tones and deliciously smooth coffee base.

The coffee and caramel soon become the main lead of this fragrance, and the florals become the support act. Marine accord provides the saltiness which coupled with a welcome edition of light woody notes help bring a darker side to the base.

New York Nights does not evolve much further after dry down, but I felt that was a good thing, particularly as the coffee cuts the sweetness of the caramel nicely, as does the saltiness.

For me, this is best suited for autumn/winter nights. The longevity of this fragrance was fairly long lasting at 5+ hours.

Presented in the Bond No 9 classic style bottle depicting the lights and colour or the NYC skyline. There is also a more fancy version with Swarovski crystals for those that little something extra.

Top Notes:

Jasmine, Gardenia, Carnation

Mid Notes:

Patchouli, Sandalwood, Marine Accord

Base Notes:

Coffee, Caramel

2. Bond No 9 Wall Street Eau De Parfum

Bond No 9 Wall Street Eau De Parfum

Review

From the initial spray, Bond No 9 Wall Street Eau de Parfum is a crowd-pleasing sexy summer aquatic fragrance of citrus and oceanic notes.

Salty cucumber and bitter rather than sweet citrus entwine with fresh lavender. Upon dry down, the sea kale and ambergris certainly provide stability and inject feelings of a crisp sea breeze with salt in the air.

This is a very unique fragrance. Although marketed as unisex I feel this is a very masculine scent. Rather than give feelings of working hard in the office at Wall Street, it felt tailor-made for those long, relaxing holiday afternoons on the beach.

The longevity of Wall Street Eau de Parfum is excellent. It remained detectable on my skin for 7+ hours, so certainly has some stamina.

Great masculine crisp/aquatic fragrance that projects nicely, lasts well, and will almost certainly earn some compliments.

Presented in a Matt black bottle with gold NYC/Wall Street logo is discreet and striking at the same time.

Top Notes:

Lemon, Orange, Cucumber

Mid Notes:

Lavender

Base Notes:

Sea Kale, Ambergris, Musk, Vetiver

3. Bond No 9 Dubai Ruby Eau De Parfum

Bond No 9Dubai Ruby Eau de Parfum

Review

An exquisitely beautiful scent from the Bond No 9 ‘Dubai’ range, Dubai Ruby Eau de Parfum is a head-turning exotic and uplifting spring/summer fragrance.

Dubai Ruby opens with a zing of fresh citrus and a sweeter combination of rose & geranium than I expected. Well balanced with hints of saffron and more powdery florals. Certainly, civet is present as we move to dry-down, and the musky/amber base.

Before I tried this scent I was expecting it to feel autumn/winter, but no… Definitely a spring/summer fragrance as the citrus and floral really stand out but in a more masculine way due to saffron and musky/amber base.

Dubai Ruby is extremely long-lasting and will project easily for 8+ hours. In fact, I could still smell it on me the next day. Presented in a traditional looking middle eastern looking beautiful gold coloured bottle with a ruby-red window.

If you are seeking a warming, exotic, sexy masculine fragrance for spring and summers, look no further.

Rose, Magnolia, Geranium

4. Bond No 9 FiDi Eau De Parfum

Bond No 9 FIDI Eau De Parfum

Review

The New Your Financial District (nicknamed FiDi) has undergone a transformation in recent years and has evolved into its own community Eco-system. Bond No 9 FiDi Eau de Parfum is a fragrance for the modern man who wishes to project a scent that has both pace and energy.

Peppery top notes combine with the citrus double-act of bergamot and mandarin to inject a clean sense freshness. The mids of nutmeg & lotus flower add balance and zing. All of this is held up nicely by base notes of cedar, vanilla and musk.

Definitely a spring/summer fragrance considering the florals and citrus. The peppery top notes and musky base do shine through so felt like a fragrance that can be worn day or night.

I found this was a fairly long-lasting fragrance, 5+ hours before it ran out of pace.

Discreetly presented in the Bond No 9 classic style bottle in black with simple FiDi logo.

In summary, FiDi Eau de Parfum is a fast-paced floral/musky modern male fragrance for both work-time and fun-time.

Madagascar Black Pepper, Bergamot, Mandarin

Nutmeg, Lotus Flower

5. Bond No 9 New York Oud Eau De Parfum

Bond No 9 New York Oud Eau De Parfum

Review

Bond No 9 New York Oud is an intoxicating combination of oud and rose with a musky base that is perfect as a professional/work fragrance. Although a unisex scent I personally felt it’s more male orientated.

Be warned, upon initial application, this one will scream only rose and oud (with a hint of plum). Once you allow it to dry, it opens up to reveal more delicate notes such as honey and saffron. The plum also commands a more central role after 10 minutes or so.

More than the sum of its parts, and it evolves with the oud manoeuvring to the front as time goes on as the plum begins fading. Rose remains throughout.

A very long-lasting fragrance with the rose, oud and musk still projecting at 7+ hours.

Overall, Bond No 9 New York Oud is a classy floral/oud scent with a woody/musky base that is perfect for the autumn/winter months. The plum is a fantastic addition.

Top Notes:

Red Plum, Saffron, Orange Zest

Mid Notes:

Oud, Red Rose, Orris, Patchouli

Base Notes:

Musk, Honey, Vetiver

6. Bond No 9 Bleecker Street Eau De Parfum

Bond No 9 Bleecker Street Eau De Parfum

Review

Bond No 9 Bleecker Street is a seductive blend of fruity/woody/suede notes that lavishes the wearer with a discreet yet ever-present warming glow.

Opening with a glorious fanfare of fruity blueberry and suede, this fragrance in one classy experience from the start. After 20 minutes or so you are greeted with subtle hints of jasmine, oakmoss and warming vanilla and caramel.

Even with the fruity blubbery and a hint of crisp/green, the warming effect of the suede, vanilla and caramel combination manoeuvre this sent more to the autumn/winter seasons in my opinion.

The longevity of this fragrance is long-lasting (particularly the suede and oakmoss) and remained present for 6+ hours.

Overall, Bond No 9 Bleecker Street is a unique fruity and warming masculine smelling autumn/winter scent with an interesting hint of freshness thrown in. Class in a bottle.

Blueberry, Violet Leaf, Cassis

7. Bond No 9 Jones Beach Eau De Parfum

Bond No 9 Jones Beach Eau De Parfum

Review

No prizes for guessing the intention of Bond No 9 Jones Beach Eau de Parfum. Think sun, sand, and warm sea breezes. A clean, crisp light-hearted fragrance that screams beach-time.

Starting life with a sea-side salty crispness thanks to oceanic top notes that combine with the summer sensation of orange flower and white musk. Gives a straightforward, relaxed, clean & fun scent for the summertime.

Definitely a full-on summer daytime fragrance. Orange flower coupled with the salty crispness of oceanic notes and musk ensure you have captured the beach in a bottle….. without the annoying sand.

As with most summer fragrances, Jones Beach is only moderately long-lasting at about 4+ hours. In my opinion, this is the best smelling Bond No 9 scent for summer.

Top Notes:

Oceanic Notes

Mid Notes:

Orange Flower

Base Notes:

Violet, White Musk

8. Bond No 9 Governors Island Eau De Parfum

Bond No 9 Governors Island Eau De Parfum

Review

Bond No 9 explains that Governors Island Eau de Parfum is a seductive, addictive incense-filled fragrance inspired by the island’s dense woodlands. This is not one for the timid as it shouts your masculinity from the rooftops.

A classy male scent that opens with a welcoming wave of resin and incense. Wafts of ambroxan and cedar shortly follow to add balance and depth. At dry down, woody/musky notes provide more power to this fantastic male fragrance.

A cold weather scent that feels both sophisticated and mature. Perfect for Autumn/Winter as things get chilly.

The resin, in particular, combined with the woody/musky base ensured outstanding longevity at 8+ hours. Excellent performance.

As a side note, I layered Governors Island with FiDi (as it’s more of a citrus/floral slanted scent) and the result created more of an all year round masculine fragrance.

Top Notes:

Incense, Resin

Mid Notes:

Ambroxan, Cedar

Base Notes:

Vetiver, White Musk

9. Bond No 9 Lafayette Street Eau De Parfum

Bond No 9 Lafayette Street Eau De Parfum

Review

Bond No 9 Lafayette Street Eau de Parfum cuts through many iconic neighbourhoods, including Little Italy, Soho and of course Chinatown. This is a stylishly crisp yet warming oriental fragrance of citrus, florals and woody/amber notes that set the tone.

Lafayette leads with a crisp fruitiness combined with sweet florals and herb tones of coriander. Upon dry-down, the fruitiness is exchanged for the subtle sweetness of ambroxan/ambergris. The tonka bean, vanilla, and amber mix together to create an intoxicating warm, smooth and creamy base.

As for ‘when to wear’, this is an extremely versatile fragrance that can be worn any season and for most occasions.

The longevity of Lafayette Street is excellent and remained detectable on the skin for 8+ hours.

An attention-grabbing oriental masculine scent that is both warming and crisp. Presented in a striking matt black bottle with embossed ‘crocodile skin’ pattern.

Bergamot, Coriander, Florals

Mid Notes:

Ambroxan, Apple, Vanilla,

Woody, Tonka Bean, Ambergris

10. Bond No 9 Chez Bond Eau De Parfum

Bond No 9 Chez Bond Eau De Parfum

Review

Bond No 9 Chez Bond Eau de Parfum is a refined fresh, green, woody male scent that revolves around violet leaf, tea and sandalwood. Attention-grabbing is a discreet way and high on the compliment scale.

Chez Bond has opening notes of zingy citrus that entwine with a fresh green mix of violet leaf and tea. The sandalwood, cedar, and vetiver base appear and hold steady at dry-down. This becomes more warming as the hours’ pass and exudes both tea notes and sandalwood. A nip of citrus still manages to break through for quite some time.

Definitely a spring/summer fragrance with such citrus, green and woody notes. More of a day-time scent, in my opinion, perhaps layer with something more musk/amber base orientated would work to carry this into nightwear.

The longevity is fairly long-lasting at 5+ hours. Pretty impressive for a fragrance that is citrus and green note heavy.

Chez Bond is sexy, seductive, and intoxicating citrus/green/woody scent. The perfect male fragrance to make that lasting impression.

Presented in one of my favourite Bond No9 bottles. It’s both classic & classy with clean lines and an Art-Deco feel.

Top Notes:

Sparkling Citrus Tones, Leafy Greens

Mid Notes:

Herbal Tea, Violet Leaves

Base Notes:

Vetiver, Cedarwood, Sandalwood
