French for “I love,” the J’adore fragrance collection is an ode to women, their daring nature, and their beauty. The best J’adore perfumes blend elegant and seductive floral notes that nestle in that iconic silhouette bottle.
J’adore was first launched in 1999 when innovative designer Christian Dior collaborated with perfumer Calice Becker to create a feminine fragrance that’s “Sensual without being too heavy”.
Over the years, this complex yet elegant fragrance has given rise to several beautiful J’adore flankers, and I popped into my local John Lewis store to see what all the fuss is about.
Best Dior J’adore Perfumes
Here’s the holy grail of the 6 best J’adore perfumes, from the iconic original J’adore Eau de Parfum to the latest J’adore Parfum d’Eau.
1. J’adore Parfum d’Eau Eau de Parfum
Review
Launched in 2022, J’adore Parfum d’Eau is an uplifting and confident white floral fragrance complete with the freshness of green stems. This scent is an exciting deviation for Dior and is entirely alcohol-free.
This captivating fragrance opens with bright notes of neroli, leading to a cheerful and slightly green-tinged heart of jasmine sambac.
As this fragrance evolves, perfumer François Demachy introduces you to the exotic scent of Chinese Magnolia with its smooth and velvety persona. Settles to a carefree white floral bouquet.
Top Notes:
Neroli
Mid Notes:
Jasmine Sambac
Base Notes:
Chinese Magnolia
Seasons & Longevity
J’adore Parfum d’Eau is ideal for spring and summertime daywear wear. Think fancy al fresco lunches, picnics, garden parties, and other daytime events.
Not super long-lasting, but you will get 4+ hours with moderate projection and sillage trail from this delicate and soft white floral scent.
Benefits & Drawbacks
Pros | Carfree white floral feminine scent that’s ideal for warm weather |
Cons | Not super long-lasting, and projection fades after a couple of hours |
2. J’adore Eau De Parfum Infinissime
Review
Dior released J’adore Infinissime Eau de Parfum in 2020, true to the DNA of the original J’adore, yet is more white floral focused with a less fruity persona.
This captivating fragrance opens with slightly bitter bergamot and fresh blood orange. A heart of tuberose, ylang-ylang, jasmine, and Centifolia rose notes are the true stars of J’adore Infinissime.
Perfumer François Demachy finally ties the white floral bouquet together with an enveloping woody facet of creamy and milky sandalwood.
Top Notes:
Blood Orange, Bergamot
Mid Notes:
Grasse Tuberose, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine Sambac, Centifolia Rose
Base Notes:
Sandalwood
Seasons & Longevity
Despite its summery white floral personality, I would wear this fragrance during any season and feel it’s suitable for casual daywear and more fancy evening occasions.
J’adore Infinissime boasts decent longevity of around 5+ hours with moderate projection and sillage of feminine white floral aromas.
Benefits & Drawbacks
Pros | A glorious blend of exotic florals and woody notes |
Cons | Maybe more suitable for mature fragrance lovers |
3. J’adore Eau De Parfum
Review
Released in 1999, J’adore Eau de Parfum has remained an iconic scent for over 20 years! This luxurious feminine floral fragrance is finely crafted to the final detail.
An opening of exotic steamed-distilled ylang-ylang blossoms lends instant elegance, charm, and originality to the composition. Damascus rose, the sensitive and smooth secondary note, blends with the rare duo of Grasse jasmine and jasmine Sambac.
Interesting fact; the Grasse Jasmine flowers are harvested at the break of dawn when their aroma is strongest, possessing a matchless seduction and mysterious ensemble.
Top Notes:
Ylang-Ylang
Mid Notes:
Damascus Rose
Base Notes:
Grasse Jasmine, Jasmine Sambac
Seasons & Longevity
J’adore Eau de Parfum fares best during fall and spring, and versatility allows you to wear this elegant fragrance day or night.
You can expect moderate longevity of 5+ hours with good projection and a lovely scent bubble that smells expensive.
Benefits & Drawbacks
Pros | The classic J’adore fragrance still smells classy and elegant |
Cons | Maybe too popular, so many others will be wearing this |
4. J’adore Eau De Toilette
Review
J’adore Eau de Toilette, released in 2011, is a lighter interpretation of its Eau de Parfum counterpart. Its composition differs slightly to create a white floral scent that’s more zesty and clean.
The rich aroma or ylang-ylang (in the EDP) is replaced with energising blood orange in J’adore Eau de Toilette. Then, neroli – an essence from the bitter orange tree’s blossom absolute – blooms from the heart.
Finally, Damascus rose essence serves as a base note to create a full expression of a J’adore floral bouquet. The Damascus rose is sensual and creamy, lending comfort to the perfume composition.

Top Notes:
Blood Orange Essence
Mid Notes:
Neroli, Orange Blossom Absolute
Base Notes:
Damascena Rose Essence
Seasons & Longevity
Celebrate spring and summer with this carefree yet elegant feminine fragrance that is incredibly easy to wear. More of a daytime scent.
One drawback of this fragrance is its longevity. You will only have around 3 hours of performance, with solid projection for the first hour, then it sadly fades. Despite this, it’s a pretty scent for both work and play.
Benefits & Drawbacks
Pros | A bright and cheerful interpretation of the original |
Cons | Poor performance and only lasted 3 hours |
5. J’adore L’Or Essence de Parfum
Review
Christian Dior launched J’adore L’Or in 2010, featuring a warming interpretation of the classic 1999 J’adore floral bouquet ideal for the colder seasons.
The charm of Grasse jasmine is a powerful yet subtle floral scent nuanced with light almond, banana, and mango notes. It boasts a fruity, wild, sensual, captivating character.
Then, in the heart, May rose, jasmine and tuberose create a wonderous blend of unparalleled notes that are subtle, honeyed, and slightly peppery.
Lastly, the fragrance is tied together with vanilla as an expressive base note, and I did get hits of patchouli, although not listed. It’s similar to Dior Addict in many ways.
Top Notes:
Grasse Jasmine
Mid Notes:
May Rose, Jasmine, Tuberose
Base Notes:
Vanilla
Seasons & Longevity
J’adore L’Or fares best during fall and winter and can be worn during the day or night, but imho it truly shines under cool, starry evenings.
One benefit of this fragrance is its performance, as this beauty lasts over 7+ hours with a powerful projection and sillage. You’ll make a lasting impression with this scent!
Benefits & Drawbacks
Pros | A classy, feminine fragrance with great performance |
Cons | Really can only be worn as a cold-weather perfume |
6. J’adore Extrait De Parfum
Review
J’adore Extrait de Parfum is modern expression and concentrated version of the 1999 J’adore perfume. A small dab of the perfume will surround you with a warm floral bouquet throughout the day.
This fragrance begins with elegant steam-distilled ylang-ylang as the opening note that blends well with the rose de may absolute in the heart.
Rose de Mai absolute is extracted from the Centifolia rose to create a delicate and powerful scent similar to J’adore L’or but more glamorous.
Upon dry-down, jasmine sambac flaunts an intense floral aroma, symbolising delicate, feminine softness. The perfume is a dazzling expression of flowers blooming with absolute femininity.
Top Notes:
Ylang-Ylang
Mid Notes:
Rose de May Absolute
Base Notes:
Jasmine Sambac Absolute
Seasons & Longevity
J’adore Extrait de Parfum is best suited to autumn, winter and spring weather. You can wear it during the day, but I feel it comes into its own as the sun goes down.
This perfume is eternal, lasting well over 8 hours with excellent projection and casts a seductive sillage trail to ensure all eyes are on you.
Benefits & Drawbacks
Pros | Elegant and refined with incredible performance |
Cons | Only really for more dressy occasions |
Ingrid’s Top Pick
J’adore Eau de Parfum Infinissime
My top pick is J’adore Eau de Parfum Infinissime, as the subtle bitter, zesty notes are beautifully balanced by tuberose, ylang-ylang, jasmine, and Centifolia rose in the heart.
The soothing sandalwood in the base is the icing on the cake, so to speak. Bravo, François Demachy .
Conclusion
The best J’adore perfumes incorporate notes of ylang-ylang, Grasse jasmine, and Centifolia rose to provide the ultimate aroma of femininity.
François Demachy has meticulously crafted J’adore to boast bouquets of the most elegant, feminine, and alluring flowers that smell divine and more sedate than the intoxicating Dior Poison perfumes I reviewed.
The J’adore collection is one with which few people can find fault, as there is a fragrance for every style, mood, and situation, leading to its iconic status.
Performance is excellent, and the price range is between £55/$60 to £130/$140. Bottle sizes of 30ml/1.0oz, 50ml/1.7oz, and 100ml/3.4oz are available depending on the fragrance you buy.
