After the hugely popular Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum was released in 2017, several enticing additions followed to create the Gucci Bloom collection.
Although every new Gucci Bloom perfume shares the same white floral DNA as the original Bloom fragrance, each introduces something new and enticing.
From the original white floral of Gucci Bloom to the new 2024 release of Gucci Bloom Intense, I have given this article a complete Bloom collection update after my recent in-store trip.
Best Gucci Bloom Perfumes
Elegantly floral, the best Gucci Bloom perfumes are stylish, modern and unapologetically feminine. Here are 5 to try.
1. Gucci Bloom Intense Eau de Parfum
Review
New for 2024 is Gucci Bloom Intense: This is a richer and somewhat deeper take on the original Bloom, embodying the essence of fragrant gardens.
An opening of sweet pear, ginger, and mandarin leads gently to a heart of fragrant tuberose and hints of jasmine. I loved the delicate moss and coconut aromas as it settled.
Top Notes:
Pear, Ginger Essence, Mandarin
Mid Notes:
Jasmine Sambac, Tuberose, Lady of the Night
Base Notes:
Patchouli, Coconut, Crystal Moss
Seasons & Longevity
For me, Gucci Bloom Intense is a winner for any season, making it an excellent choice for day or night; strong at first, it lingers seductively for 4+ hours.
Benefits & Drawbacks
Pros | Enhanced floral intensity (at first) offers a captivating scent |
Cons | Did not last as long as I expected |
2. Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum
Review
The original 2017 Alberto Morillas classic, and still the best according to many die-hard fans, Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum is an icon these days.
Jasmine dominates right from the start, supported by tuberose. I love the Rangoon creeper that brings a clean yet sweet fruity/floral honeysuckle aroma.
Top Notes:
Jasmine
Mid Notes:
Tuberose
Base Notes:
Rangoon Creeper
Seasons & Longevity
Lasting 4+ hours and best worn in spring and summer, Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum is ideal for garden parties and outdoor lunches, plus it is office-safe.
Benefits & Drawbacks
Pros | Classic, sophisticated floral scent ideal for daily wear and special occasions |
Cons | May be considered too floral or generic by some users |
3. Gucci Bloom Eau de Toilette
Review
The lighter and brighter Gucci Bloom Eau de Toilette that came out in 2022 is a fanfare of white florals, musk and citrus that is so easy to wear.
A zesty citrus fruit opening is soon elevated by a bouquet of tuberose, jasmine and orange blossom. This EDT version becomes gently musky as it settles. Beautiful.
Top Notes:
Neroli Accord, Lemon Essence, Mandarin Essence, Bergamot Essence
Mid Notes:
Bloom Accord (Jasmine Buds), Tuberose, Rangoon Creeper, Orange Blossom
Base Notes:
Sandalwood Accord, Musk
Seasons & Longevity
I recommend Bloom EDT as a spring and summer staple for casual daytime wear, and it will last 4+ hours before it needs a top-up.
Benefits & Drawbacks
Pros | Lighter, fresher version of the original, perfect for casual use |
Cons | Not as complex as others in the Bloom collection |
4. Gucci Bloom Profumo di Fiori Eau de Parfum
Review
Bright and rich, Gucci Bloom Profumo di Fiori is one of the boldest scents in the Bloom range and reminds me of Diptyque Do Son Eau de Parfum.
Uplifting jasmine sambac is the true essence of Profumo de Fiori, supported by tuberose and exotic ylang-ylang. Settles into a musky, woody base.
Top Notes:
Jasmine Sambac Absolute
Mid Notes:
Tuberose, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine Bud Extract
Base Notes:
Musk, Sandalwood, Benzoin, Sun Drenched Wood Accord, Orris
Seasons & Longevity
Ideal for spring, summer and creeping into autumn, I recommend this as an excellent day-to-day scent that will turn heads for 5+ hours.
Benefits & Drawbacks
Pros | Offers a unique, solar floral scent that’s both vibrant and warm. |
Cons | The exotic ylang ylang may not appeal to traditional floral lovers |
5. Gucci Bloom Ambrosia di Fiori Eau de Parfum Intense
Review
A traditional white floral scent with a creamy edge, Gucci Bloom Ambrosia di Fiori is the well-to-do older sister of the Bloom collection.
A blast of fresh/green jasmine bud and sweet, powdery Rangoon creeper is lifted by a clean white floral heart of tuberose. Buttery orris and rose give a complex floral and earthy finish.
Top Notes:
Jasmine Bud Extract, Rangoon Creeper
Mid Notes:
Tuberose
Base Notes:
Damask Rose, Orris Root
Seasons & Longevity
While this perfume thrives in spring, I feel it fares well in any season and suits more formal evening occasions the best, lasting 6+ hours.
Benefits & Drawbacks
Pros | Intense, rich floral blend that exudes sophistication |
Cons | It’s richness might feel overpowering in warm weather |
Ingrid’s Top Pick
Gucci Bloom Intense Eau de Parfum
My top pick is Gucci Bloom Intense Eau de Parfum, as the elegant tuberose aromas mixed with sweet pear and a touch of spice from the ginger are classy and feminine and last well.
Conclusion
You cannot go wrong with the Gucci Bloom collection for an elegant floral fragrance. And if you want something lighter, check out the Gucci Flora collection I recently reviewed, too!
The Gucci Bloom fragrance collection is currently available in 30, 50, and 100ml (1.0, 1.7, 3.4 oz) size bottles.
I love these bottles as they look very retro, and for some reason, their labels remind me of 1970s vintage wallpaper!
As always, I recommend you try each fragrance in-store (or order samples online) and decide which one you prefer after letting them all dry down for 20 minutes at least.
