1. Magnolia Nobile Eau de Parfum

Review

Magnolia Nobile Eau de Parfum is a zesty white floral fragrance that is both bright and energising. Launched in 2009, Antoine Maisondieu is the nose behind this captivating fragrance.

The opening notes of crisp lemon and juicy bergamot mingle with a fanfare of white florals. Sweet jasmine is most prominent yet swiftly superseded by the lemony-sweet floral note of magnolia. Soft powdery rose and tuberose are mildly present, but magnolia of clearly the star of the show. A base of vanilla, woody notes, and a touch of vetiver smooth the edges but do not detract from the overall citrus/floral experience.

As for when to wear, with its zestiness combined with rich floral notes, Magnolia Nobile seems almost tailor-made for spring/summer daywear. Think long beach walks or mooching around the city in the summertime, stopping for a cheeky coffee and a slice of cake.

Performance is truly excellent with 6+ hours of longevity and good sillage and projection that really creates an impact.

Presented in the striking art-deco style bottle with yellow glow emitted from the fragrance resting inside. A gold-coloured label and matching cap complete the polished look. Very nice.

Overall, Magnolia Nobile is a classy, sophisticated and refined citrus/magnolia combo that captivates and delights.

Review

Rosa Nobile is a beautiful rose focused fragrance that oozes elegance and style. Launched in 2014, the nose behind this stunning scent is none other than the titan of perfumery, François Demachy.

The fragrance begins with sparkling citrus lightly dusted with pepper. When the delicate natural rose reaches full bloom, it recreates the majesty of a perfectly kept rose garden. Sweet peony and powdery violet soon join the floral experience to add more of a bouquet feel. Upon dry-down, a musky base with touches of wood adds depth and intrigue.

As for when to wear, Rosa Nobile is an any-season scent that can be worn from the warmest part of summer to the coldest of winters. Whether you are dressed up for a fancy occasion or enjoying a casual night in, Rosa Nobile will put a spring in your step.

3. Camelia Eau de Parfum

Acqua di Parma Camelia Eau de Parfum

Review

Camelia Eau de Parfum incorporates the Camelia, whose plant produces lemony-fresh fragrant flowers. Known as the oriental rose, it grows in mountainous & coastal regions of eastern & southern Indonesia, Japan, China and Malaysia. The outcome is a stunningly exquisite feminine floral scent.

Camelia Eau de Parfum opens with citrus notes of orange and bergamot dusted with pink pepper. A soft feminine floral heart of lemon-fresh camelia and sweet, delicate jasmine dance together beautifully. Subtle hints of cardamon and sage add a discreet suggestion of spice to give a middle eastern vibe, especially when the base of sweet musk emerges.

As for when to wear, Camelia Eau de Parfum is perfect as a fresh citrus/floral feminine day-time spring/summer fragrance. For me, this is a day-time summer scent that brings feelings of warm summers sun. What more could you ask for?

Longevity is not incredible at 3+ hours, although sillage and projection are both reasonable. OK for a quick lunch but more extended wear will require a top-up. That’s where the 20ml bottle comes in handy!

Camelia Eau de Parfum comes presented in a clear glass bottle, black label with gold font and matching black stopper.

Overall, Camelia Eau de Parfum is a clean, lemon-floral summertime fragrance with a tinge of muskiness. Very nice.

Review

Fico di Amalfi is a stylish fruity/floral that blends sweet fig and zesty citrus notes to stunning effect. You can almost feel the warm Mediterranean breeze coming to greet you.

The opening is initially incredibly fresh and multi-layered. Citrus notes of lemon, bergamot and grapefruit soon mingle with sweet luscious fig. Pepper coated sweet jasmine adds welcoming albeit muted floral layer. Upon dry-down, fig wood, cedar, and benzoin are all clearly present and provide welcoming depth. The overall experience is quite contrasting, with fresh citrus duelling with sweet fig and woody notes for a real summertime feel.

As for when to wear, Fico di Amalfi is a spring/summer fragrance through and through. It’s zesty/fruity combination is refreshing, oh-so-delicious that gets compliments galore. More than just a holiday fragrance, more like a full-on spring/summer signature scent.

Longevity is pretty good at around 4+ hours with moderate sillage and projection.

Presented in a tall, cleanly designed vibrant blue glass bottle that nicely conveys thoughts of summer by the Mediterranean coast.

Overall, Fico di Amalfi is a crowd-pleasing spring/summer scent that is fresh, fruity and oh-so moreish. I will go out on a limb and say if you love fruity/floral fragrances then this is pretty much a blind buy.

5. Peonia Nobile Eau de Parfum

Review

Peonia Nobile is a delightful fruity/floral fragrance with a darker, more sensual side that is both elegant and refined. Released in 2016, this timeless mix of soft florals, fruits and spice generates its fair share of compliments.

This fragrance opens with juicy, yet slightly sharp raspberry with a generous sprinkle of pepper. A floral heart soon blooms to reveal sweet/citrusy peony and delicate rose in equal measure. There is a touch of earthy geranium that creeps in from time-to-time that seems to add a hint of bitterness. Upon dry-down, a base of warm amber, a punch of patchouli, and soft musk add an almost oriental feel. Fabulous.

As for when to wear, for me personally, Peonia Nobile feels more suited to the changing seasons of spring/autumn. Yes its floral, but it has a warming cosiness about it thanks to pepper and that divine combination of base notes.

Performance is 5+ hours with good sillage and projection. Not a beast fragrance, but certainly no shrinking violet neither!

Rosa Nobile comes nested in the classic Acqua di Parma art-deco style bottle that emits a pink glow. The gold label and matching gold cap complete the look.

Overall, Peonia Nobile is somewhat surprising as I was expecting a linear sweet/citrusy peony fragrance. Interestingly, notes of rose, raspberry and a sultry base elevate this scent. Would make an excellent addition to any fragrance collection.

6. Colonia Eau de Cologne

Review

And now for the timeless fragrance that started it all, Colonia. First launched in 1916, Colonia is a refreshing and utterly luxurious combination of citrus and floral notes that drys down with a delightful soapiness. Although branded as unisex, the delicate rose and lavender reveals a vintage feminine side and commands attention.

The opening is almost pure citrus, with orange, lemon and bergamot most prominent. However, there is a delightful touch of rosemary that subtly creeps in soon after. A floral heart of lavender and powdery rose add a welcome floral touch that has a soapiness reminiscent of a luxury spa day. Upon dry-down, a delicate base of patchouli and woody notes complete this feminine summer-vibe fragrance.

As for when to wear, Colonia is a cheerful spring/summer day-time fragrance that would make a perfect office scent, holiday scent, or both! It’s discreet but not invisible and just feels well rounded and classy.

You can expect 3-4 hours of performance with moderate sillage and projection—more than reasonable for such a fresh-smelling fragrance.

Colonia is presented in a clean-lined clear-glass bottle with a white label and black stopper. Not particularly incredible to look at, but not terrible neither.

Overall, Colonia is a timeless spring/summer fragrance that manages to pull off a modern Spa feel. It is discreet, fresh and slightly soapy with touches of wood—a true feel-good fragrance.

Review

Mandorlo di Sicilia is a deliciously powdery and sweet gourmand scent of vanilla and almond with touches of star anise. This fragrance puts a spring in your step and a smile on your face.

The opening is initially of fresh citrus, with orange and bergamot in equal measure. Sweet almond and star anise combine for a marzipan hit. Mid notes are lightly floral, with buttery ylang-ylang and sweet jasmine playing only a cameo role. A base of divine vanilla sees the entire fragrance further transformed as it coats every note with its delightful sweetness. A slight woody/muskiness also trails.

As for when to wear, Mandorlo di Sicilia is a mood-lifting any-season fragrance as there is so much to it. The citrus notes work well for summer, while the trio of vanilla, almond, and star anise are great autumn/winter notes. Slightly more of a day-time fragrance.

Review

Sakura Eau De Parfum is an utterly elegant floral fragrance that soon reveals a sensual musky side. If you are searching for a classy, feminine scent that is discreet yet attention-grabbing, then this could be just the fragrance.

Opens with pepper sprinkled citrus that is quickly overtaken by the glamorous floral mid notes of powdery rose-like cherry blossom and sweet jasmine. Upon dry-down, a base of soft musk coats another layer for the ultimate in extravagance.

As for when to wear, Sakura Eau De Parfum is perfect for spring/summer. It does not have the intensity of the base notes for formal evening wear. Still, it will undoubtedly get you noticed for all the right reasons. I am thinking of fancy lunches/brunches and summer garden parties and not forgetting weddings.

9. Vaniglia Eau de Parfum

Review

Launched in 2019, Vaniglia Eau de Parfum is a vanilla fragrance with a difference. It’s not your run of the mill sweet vanilla, but rather a wickedly provocative femme-fatale style scent that refuses to conform.

The opening of bright citrus blended with the almond floral note of heliotrope is attention-grabbing right from the start. A heart of soft vanilla creates a wave of sultry bittersweetness that envelops the wearer. Sweet jasmine also delights. A woody/musky base becomes the foundation of this sensual and intimate feminine fragrance. Fantastic.

As for when to wear, Vaniglia Eau de Parfum is one for the night owls. Incredibly versatile as perfect for any season, this fragrance is worth getting dressed up for.

Performance is excellent at 6+ hours with good sillage and projection. The woody/vanilla combo performs exceptionally well.

Presented in a jet-black AdP bottle with black label and black stopper. Gold lettering oozes class and understated sophistication—possibly my favourite bottle in the collection.

Overall, Vaniglia Eau de Parfum stands head and shoulders above most vanilla fragrances. The almondy floral heliotrope just adds that something extra and works so well with the deep woody notes.

Top Notes:

Bergamot, Mandarin, Neroli, Heliotrope

Mid Notes:

Jasmine Sambac, Vanilla

Cedarwood, Musk
